Jordans Taveners C.C v Ealing 3 Bridges CC Sunday Team on Sun 28 Aug 2011 at 1400
Match was Abandoned

Match report The Jordans Taverners played host to ETBCC on a sunny, overcast and rainy day. The Bridges won the toss, batting first on a soft spongy wicket and were soon were in trouble on 43 for 7. However some respectability was restored by Salman 56 n.o and Afridi 22 n.o ending the 40 overs on 142 for 7. Following a decent "tea" the Taverners innings started off rather ill-tempered as one of the opening batsman`s persistent use of the pad(of course pads are for protection not batting) brought out the youthful exuberance of the Bridges bowlers whose appeals for LBW were rather OTT. This in turn exposed the Taverners to a air of arrogance last seen during the days of the empire. However the game soon settled to playing criket and when the rains put a sunder to events the host were on the back foot at 60 for 4 in 22 overs. Special mention to Robin who did an excellent PR job on behalf of the Taverners.
Welcome back Gow and Ralph after few years in self-imposed exile!
